Local Firms React to Minimum Wage Hike

If you've dropped into a local fast food restaurant, you've probably noticed that prices at Wendy's, Blimpie and others have jumped about 30 cents. The word on the street is that 30 cents per sandwich is the cost of the minimum wage hike this coming year.

Disabled individuals were reported in the Citizen to be losing their jobs over the mandatory increase in pay which is not a one-time event. Each year, the minimum wage, which is chained to the cost of living, will increase as scheduled in the law.

I knew it would hurt the economy. I voted no on this increase. Food prices are going up because of it.
